Equestrian Traditions and Festivities
El Jadida, October 2, 2024 – Today, I have the privilege of experiencing an unforgettable day at the El Jadida Horse Show 2024, a prestigious event held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him. Since 2008, this internationally renowned show has attracted riders and enthusiasts from around the world. It has become a must-attend event for those passionate about horseback riding and Moroccan equestrian culture. From the moment I arrived, the festive atmosphere immersed me in a fascinating world where equestrian art shines brightly.
The Twelve Regions in the Symphony of Fantasia
One of the highlights of the day is the Fantasia, or « Tbourida ». This traditional Moroccan spectacle combines skill, precision, and teamwork. The twelve regions of Morocco are represented by teams of riders, called « sorbas ». Each team wears beautiful traditional clothing and performs its own display during His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix. It is a true symphony, rhythmically choreographed with perfectly timed movements.

In the open-air arena, surrounded by majestic caïdal tents, the riders perform impressive maneuvers. They conclude their performance with a synchronized salvo, cheered by an enthusiastic audience. The stands, packed to the brim, are filled with an electric atmosphere.
El Jadida Horse Show 2024: A Feast for the Eyes and Senses
Beyond the Fantasia, the festive spirit extends throughout the show. Inside the pavilions, the musical groups of the Forces Armées Royales fill the aisles with vibrant parades. Their music, rich in Moroccan culture, sparks enthusiastic applause and adds a majestic touch to the event.
Young officers warmly welcome visitors at the Forces Armées Royales stands. They passionately explain the different exhibitions, creating a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
A Show Rich in Discoveries
The El Jadida Horse Show is not limited to equestrian displays. Organized to support the development of the equine sector, it has become an essential meeting point for professionals. From artisanal saddlery to modern equipment for riders, each stand invites exploration. Visitors meet passionate artisans and industry professionals.

Several high-level competitions are organized, including the Barbe Horse Champions Cup, the international Arabian Thoroughbred model and gaits competition, and the 4*W International Show Jumping competition. The latter is the third stage of the Morocco Royal Tour (MRT), a qualifying event for the World Cup.
